Our Mission -To provide sustainable and organic agriculture education and consultation that empowers small farmers to expand crop production in Africa.
We help small-scale farmers improve soil fertility, cut down on their use of commercial fertilizer and pesticides, and form small business groups to pool labor, resources and produce for more efficient local marketing. During the past four years, Go Organic Africa has implemented a broad range of training programs to address the varied needs of the small-scale farming sector.
Volunteering on an Organic farm or families in Africa is a great way to help provide healthy food sources to communities and learn about sustainable farming techniques at the same time. Working on a farm in Africa is great for volunteers with an interest in ecology and organic farming and who like working outdoors.
Agriculture & Farming projects in Africa mix farm labor and programs for providing food to the local community, creating more effective farming methods and supporting outreach programs that teach local children about farming and sustainable development both at home and school.
Our volunteers in Africa work in responsible ways to irrigate crops, build enclosures, create seed nurseries, teach local children about sustainable development, and help in an apiary, building of underground tanks for the communities, home gardens, and many other farming activities in order to help the local community. Volunteers should be prepared for some challenging physical work, but no previous knowledge of farming or technical skills are necessary.
